I'm Wilfred van der Vegte. I was
born in 1963 and currently I live in The Hague in the Netherlands
(Holland). In my 'other life' I work
at Delft University
of Technology. I've been making photographs since the 1970s.

Most of the photographs on
this site
have been made with 35mm and 6x4.5 analog equipment, and scanned
with a
filmscanner. The more recent pictures were taken with a Nikon
D70s/D90 DSLR. If you're interested in technical stuff I recommend the
following sites, where I post photographs on a regular basis, and where
you can sometimes find details like film types, exposure data and the
type of lens I used:
|
- The contaxg pages: This is where you can find a selection of the images I shot with my Contax G2 - an autofocus viewfinder camera with
exchangeable lenses. The contaxg pages are a lively web community where
users of Contax G1 and G2 cameras post images, critique and rate each
others images and discuss photography-related topics. My user page is here.
-
The non-contaxg pages:
This is
where I post images shot with my other gear: the Nikon DSLR, the Bronica
RF645 medium-format rangefinder camera and the Minolta
manual-focus SLRs I owned in the 1990s. There are also a few images
taken with a disposable camera and images taken with the
Voigtländer Vito B that I used in the 1970s and 1980s (and which I
still own).
- The contaximages pages: This
is where I sometimes post images made with my compact Contax T2 camera.
- Woophy.com
presents a map of the world on which you can search images based on the
location where they were taken. Anyone can become a member and post his
or her images, so there's a lot of variety in style and quality. It's a
very nice and innovative concept.
On all these websites, many interesting contributions from other
photographers can be found.
